A bit about me!

Hi, I'm Divya! Welcome to my website! I am a student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. In my free time, I love being active, making yummy food, and traveling. I just finished a semester abroad in Europe!

Education

  • Carnegie Mellon University (2019-2023)
    • B.S in Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Saratoga High School (2015-2019)

Work Experience

  • Apple, Watch Architecture Intern (May 2022 - August 2022)
    • Designed an interactive dashboard for the Apple Watch's power modeling software. Users can provide different inputs such as watch model and user type. The dashboard outputs various graphs to display hardware performance trends. This helps the hardware team with modeling power consumption of new chips and internal pieces.
    • Ran experiments observing corrosion when varying the electric load applied to metal contacts.
  • Amazon Prime Video, Software Development Engineering Intern (June 2021 - August 2021)
    • Implemented a full stack feature on a customer facing website for the Prime Video Encoding Team. The feature provided customers with the amount of time it would take to upload and encode different components of their media with the raw video. Different components include different subtitles and various video definitions. Used SQL to query their database to retrieve the values needed to estimate the time.
    • Used Java to calculate the time and call the SQL query. Used Ruby and HTML/CSS to edit the front end and call the feature.
  • Introduction to Computer Systems, Teaching Assistant (January 2021 - May 2021)
    • Ran weekly small group sessions, wrote homework, and graded programming and written assignments.
    • The class covered machine-level code, memory organization, networking, and concurrent operations.
  • Milestone Inc., IT Intern (August 2020 - December 2020)
    • Set up new laptops and shipped them out to new hires.
    • Organized and documented technology inventory.
  • Big Basin Burger Bar, Cashier and Server (May 2019 - August 2019)
    • Worked at a local burger restaurant as a cashier and server. Wonderful experience working in the service industry.

Research Experience

  • Carnegie Mellon University Biorobotics Lab, Research Assistant (December 2021 - June 2022)
    • Worked on an Apple sponsored electronic waste recycling project with Dr. Matt Travers and Dr. Howie Choset. Used computer vision and machine learning to classify apple products based on RGB images and RGB X-ray images.
